Selling to international buyers
Preloved Bazaar buyers can shop from all over the world, which means your items can reach a much bigger audience than just your home country — if you choose to ship abroad. Here’s how selling internationally works on your side.
You’re in control of where you ship
You decide, for each listing, whether it ships within your own country only or internationally as well. There’s no obligation to ship abroad — some sellers stick to domestic, others open up to international buyers to sell faster. It’s entirely your call, and you can set it per item.
To offer international shipping, tick the international postage option on the listing and set a flat international rate (see our guide on offering international postage for the steps).
What stays the same
- No Preloved Bazaar selling commission — we don’t take a cut of your sale, whether the buyer is at home or abroad. A standard payment-processing fee (via Stripe) is deducted from each payout, and it’s reversed if the order is refunded.
- Buyer protection and escrow work exactly as usual. Your payment is held securely and released after the item arrives as described, on the same timings as any other sale.
- Adding tracking still matters. Marking your item as shipped starts your payout timer, just like on a domestic order.
What’s different about international orders
A couple of things to be aware of when you sell across borders:
- Currency: you list and get paid in your own settlement currency. If a buyer pays in a different currency, the conversion is handled for you (see the guides on currency and on getting paid).
- Customs: any import duties or taxes are the buyer’s responsibility, charged by their country on delivery. You don’t collect or pay these.
- Postage times: international parcels naturally take longer, so it’s good practice to post promptly and add tracking straight away.
