Can I switch the currency I shop in?
Not directly — and there’s nothing you need to set. On Preloved Bazaar, the currency isn’t chosen by you or detected from your location. Instead, each item is shown and charged in its seller’s own currency, so the currency simply follows whoever you’re buying from. There’s no currency switcher to change.
What currency a listing shows
The price you see is the seller’s real price in their own currency:
- A UK seller’s items in pounds — £ GBP
- A US seller’s items in US dollars — US$ USD
- A eurozone seller’s items in euros — € EUR
- A Canadian seller’s items in Canadian dollars — CA$ CAD
So if you’re browsing items from sellers in different countries, you’ll see different currencies from listing to listing — each one is the seller’s.
What you pay, and where exchange comes in
The amount shown on the listing is exactly what’s charged. If the seller’s currency isn’t your own, your bank or card issuer converts it when you pay, at their rate — just as it would for any purchase from overseas. That’s the only place an exchange rate comes in, and Preloved Bazaar doesn’t add any conversion or FX fee on top.
Why it works this way
Showing the seller’s genuine price keeps things honest and predictable: the figure on the listing is the figure you pay, with no marketplace mark-up hidden in a converted number. It also means there’s no surprise change at checkout — the currency and amount you see are the currency and amount you’re charged.
