Offering international postage on a listing
Opening a listing up to international buyers is a great way to sell faster, since buyers around the world can shop Preloved Bazaar. You choose whether to do this on each item, so you stay in full control.
How to turn it on
When you create or edit a listing, look for the international shipping option:
- Tick the option to ship the item internationally.
- Then choose how to price it: Worldwide — one flat postage price for all international buyers — or Specific regions, with your own price for each region you’re happy to ship to (Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Oceania). It’s one or the other per listing.
That’s it. If you leave it switched off, your item ships within your own country only — signed-in buyers abroad won’t see it in the shop, and checkout is blocked for anyone it can’t be delivered to. The same applies to regions you don’t offer a price for.
How buyers are charged
With international postage enabled:
- Buyers in your own country pay your standard domestic postage.
- Buyers abroad are charged your worldwide rate — or, if you priced by region, the rate you set for their region — at checkout.
The right rate is applied automatically based on where the buyer is, so you don’t have to do anything per order.
Setting sensible rates
International postage usually costs more than domestic, so set your rates to cover the real cost of sending the parcel abroad. It’s worth checking your courier or postal service’s international prices for the item’s size and weight before you list, so you’re not caught short. Region pricing lets you reflect that Europe is usually cheaper to reach than, say, Oceania — so you don’t have to average it into one rate.
Good to know
- Customs and import duties are the buyer’s responsibility, charged by their country — your postage rate doesn’t need to cover them.
- Post promptly and add tracking — international deliveries take longer, and tracking starts your payout timer.
- You can offer international postage on some items and not others — it’s set per listing.
