Every order on Preloved Bazaar includes a small Preloved Protection fee. Here’s what it is, how it’s worked out, and what it buys you.
How much is it?
The fee is £0.50 plus 5% of the item price. The 5% is based on the item only — postage isn’t part of the calculation. You’ll see it as a separate “Preloved Protection” line in your order summary before you pay.
A quick example
On a £30 item: 5% of £30 is £1.50, plus the £0.50 base, so the Preloved Protection fee is £2.00. If postage on that order were £3.50, the postage wouldn’t change the fee — it’s still worked out on the £30 item alone.
What the fee pays for
- A refund if your item isn’t as described or doesn’t arrive.
- Your payment held securely by Stripe until your item is on its way, rather than going straight to the seller.
- Support for buyers and sellers if a problem needs resolving.
Good to know
- The fee is paid by the buyer, not the seller — it isn’t taken from a seller’s earnings.
- It applies per order, in pounds sterling (GBP), on UK purchases.
